personal statement

Drawing, graphics and colour have been particular Interest of mine since I studied GCSE's at school. It was there where I was introduced to these themes as the result of a project based on the design for a cafe. This project also Introduced me to the concept of creating 3d models as a means of communicating Ideas.
On completing my GCSE's, I joined an art and design programme at my local college, but found my Interest In 3D and Interior design was not being addressed to the extent I had hoped. having carried out some research, I found that MANCAT (now known as The Manchester College) offered a BTEC First Diploma In Interior Design. I was accepted onto this programme where I was able to Investigate a wide variety of subjects Including domestic Interior, colour theory, design history as well as resistand and non-resistant materials and finishes.
I enjoyed the diversity this programme offered snd the opportunity to explore the different ways of achieving creative goals. I was able to develop my Interest In drawing and model making to a far greater extent and on completion of this programme I had achieved grades that allowed me to progress to the the level 3 National Diploma programme, where I have extended the range of my understanding. In terms of the future development of my skills, I am keen to learn more related to presentation techniques and modeling using CAD packages. I have had basic Introductions to these areas through my current studies but know the the facilities and Instruction available in highger level study can provide exciting opportunities to refine these skills further.
